Here's the 12th episode of the Spartan Project video series. Mikaël works now on the neck/body ensemble. He finalizes the neck profile, does all the routing for the pickup and electronics and prepares the guitar for the final finish steps.

As a reminder, the goal of the Spartan Project is to document the building of a guitar for me by luthier Mikaël Springer.

Maybe you don't know it (yet) but on vibrato equipped guitar, the metal block below where the strings attached has a very important role in your tone. I heard about the FU Tone product through the years and I thought it would be interesting to have the guy behind the product to talk about it. So here I am presenting you with an interview with Adam Reiver from FU Tone.

Here's below the block Adam sent me to try on my Ernie Ball Music Man EVH model. I will try it and report here on the website my findings.

Scott Holiday interview: the Fuzz lord from Rival Sons

Here's Scott Holiday interview. I confess I only recently discovered Rival Sons and their guitar player. In fact the luthier Mikaël Springer listened to their music full blast while building my guitar for the Spartan Project so I had to eventually check-them out! Thanks to another luthier, Doug Kauer who builds most of Scott's guitars, I was able to get in touch with him to organize this interview in Luxemburg City.

It's the third time I have the pleasure to present you an interview with Mark Tremonti.

Here's an unreleased audio interview with Oz Noy that I did back in 2013. There's no good reason why I waited so long to release it as I really dig the Twisted Blues Vol. 1 album so here it is now for your listening pleasure.

My attention was brought to Oz by a friend of mine who is also a pro guitar player, Jean-Michel Kajdan (merci Jean-Mi !).

This interview was recorded with Dave Kilminster on June 29th 2015 in Montreal during the Steven Wilson tour.

Here's a Gabor Goldschmidt interview during the 2015 Musikmesse. Gabor is the luthier at Fibenare Guitars. His guitars are played by musician like Tom Quayle who was also present at their booth to demo their instrument.

After several Musikmesse, a first NAMM show in January, the Holy Grail Guitar Show, and various others guitar shows in France, I am very pleased to announce that for the first time I will cover the Montreal Jazz Festival! So here I am in full swing to organize the ten days that I will spend there.

On my program

  • Interviews with musicians programmed on the festival
  • Meetings with local luthiers, and God knows there are some very very good ones!
  • Contact catches with professional guitar for business development
  • And of course concerts!
If you are on site and / or you have contacts to recommend me and / or you wish we meet, let me know it will be with great pleasure. Some of you know that I lived 11 years in Montreal so to return there with The Channel Guitar is a sort of homecoming for me. Can't wait to be back in Quebec!! Pierre. Update : list of the interviews done during the festival [s2If !current_user_can(access_s2member_level0)]
