2018 Puteaux Guitar show organized by The Guitar Channel – Exhibitor list

For the second year in a row, The Guitar Channel is organizing with the Puteaux Music Academy the guitar show of the Festival de Guitare de Puteaux right next to Paris, France. Here's the list of exhibitors for the second edition, this festival will happen from October 12th to 14th (see info below). The luthier show

Michael Greenfield is a Canadian luthier based in Montreal who makes acoustic guitars of very high quality. In order to discover the wonderful instruments exhibited by the luthiers as well as the amps of craftsmen for electric guitars, demonstration concerts were held throughout the weekend. With the NAMM, the Musikmesse is one of the key events of the musical instrument industry and what revolves around (sound system, lights, etc.). The part reserved for the guitar is increasingly reduced year after year which diminishes the interest of coming for visitors fans of six-string. Nevertheless this fair continues to offer a great concentration of people who are present for 4 days in Frankfurt.

2016 Musikmesse: a turning point edition

Despite a significant drop in numbers of guitar exhibitors with yet new big guys absent such as Gibson, Martin, Laney and others, the 2016 Musikmesse was the occasion of many beautiful encounters.
Some pretty cool interviews with stars like Phil X (which replaced Richie Sambora on tour with Jon Bon Jovi), Sungha Jung (young Korean star of picking who has more than one billion views on YouTube) and other equally talented musicians (see list below).
The business development meetings for The Channel Guitar were particularly numerous and fruitful.

Mika Tyyskä is a very original guitar player with a very personal approach about his music. Not only he is writing and playing music but he also take care of all the visual aspect of his art with his alter ego Mr Fastfinger. His latest album Spirit Rising is shock full of cool music.

Bamboo Ethiq Electric Alquier Guitars, a sustainable instrument built by a luthier

The guitar tested in this video is the electric model Ethiq range presented in Berlin during the 2nd edition of the Holy Grail Guitar Show by luthier Jean-Yves Alquier. The characteristic of this range is that it is made of bamboo from 65% to 100% as in the case of the guitar tested in this video. So this might be one of the first sustainable guitar from a luthier.
We clearly see in the photo below how the body of the guitar is composed.

The 2015 Holy Grail Guitar Show was held the weekend of October 31 and November 1, 2015 in Berlin. This second edition of the show presented a selection of 115 luthiers from around the world. There was a lot to please the eyes and ears. You only need to watch the 5min video zapping below to be convinced.

After several Musikmesse, a first NAMM show in January, the Holy Grail Guitar Show, and various others guitar shows in France, I am very pleased to announce that for the first time I will cover the Montreal Jazz Festival! So here I am in full swing to organize the ten days that I will spend there.
