Switzerland, Japan, Italy: The Guitar Channel once again tours the world of guitar shows for its subscribers

Spring is a busy time for guitar shows. As it happens, between the end of April and mid-May there are three major guitar shows taking place in Switzerland, Japan and Italy. The Guitar Channel will once again be out and about at these three events:

  • Montreux International Guitar Show or MIGS in Montreux in Switzerland
  • Sound Messe in Osaka, Japan
  • Guitar Show Padova in Italy

offering the best coverage
of guitar events worldwide!

Carbon Footprint

You have to ask yourself the carbon footprint of all your travels. It's a question I ask myself all the time. Here's my position on the subject in a few points.

First of all, I travel by train whenever possible. That's how I've always travelled to Switzerland. I've also travelled by train from Paris to Milan to cover the SHG Music Show in Italy. Incidentally, I haven't had a private car since 2009.

Then, I take advantage of each of these trips to produce as much content as possible on site. This will be the case for this trip to Japan, where I'll not only be reporting and interviewing during the Sound Messe, but also visiting luthiers and stores in Tokyo. This is also the case for the annual trip to California for NAMM.

Finally, from the feedback I get from The Guitar Channel premium subscribers, these worldwide reports are much appreciated. They give everyone a chance to see what's going on elsewhere without having to travel. So I figure my carbon footprint is spread a little more evenly over the number of people who watch these reports and interviews.
