I’ve been following Jason Verlinde’s work for years, ever since I learned about the Fretboard Journal (fretboardjournal.com), the publication he founded. At NAMM 2025, I had the opportunity to conduct an in-depth interview with him (see this article), and we hit it off right away.
His vision for a guitar media outlet is the same as mine for The Guitar Channel. It was only a matter of time before I headed to Chicago to cover the Fretboard Summit (fretboardsummit.org), a unique guitar event he created. Here’s Jason in Chicago on the first day of the Summit.
