My name is Pierre Journel and I have been playing the guitar since I was 14. It has been a passion ever since I was able to finger my first chord. I started in 2009 The Guitar Channel to amplify the passion of all the six string fans around the world.

I will be more than happy to answer your questions, to read your comment, suggestions, ideas and, of course, to talk guitar so don't hesitate to contact me.

    Hi Pierre,
I’m a fellow podcaster (the Start Teaching Guitar Podcast), and I’ve really been enjoying your show. I’d like to use an excerpt from your Nuno Bettencourt interview in one of my episodes…he gave some good advice toward the end for guitar teachers about making sure to expose your students to other aspects of music that will help to make them better musicians, instead of just teaching them the solos they want to learn. Would it be OK to include that short clip in one of my podcast episodes? I wanted to ask permission first! 🙂

      Hello Donnie,
No problem as long as you mention the source of the extract.
Glad to discover another guitar podcaster, I will check out your show.

    Hi Pierre,
I just saw your site, thought I would contact you. I was a dear friend of Les Paul for aver 25 years, put together a program called ” Les Paul From Start To Finish ” Check it out on Facebook. I think it would fit in with your show. Les gave me several of his treasured guitars as well as many other things from his collection. I travel to different venues telling Les’ story and I even allow the public to hold, photograph and even play his guitars. Sounds crazy but I made that promise to him. So far everyone loves it!!!! Good talking with you.

Hello Pierre, I enjoy your site very much. I have a question, how do you pick the luthiers you interview? Is it possible to send you a “I know this great luthier, would you check it out?” email or message?

    • pjournel says:

      Hello Alejandro,
I usually chose the luthier I interview during guitar shows or when I met them at their workshop.
You can always drop me a line to let me know about a luthier you recommend.
      Here’s my mail:
